Basis for Decisions

It is difficult to predict if and how nearby wet weather events will effect our playing fields several hours in the future. The weather is by nature dynamic and unpredictable.

Decisions regarding playing conditions will consider,

- Player safety

- The likley severity and duration of current or approaching storms

- Prevention of damage to the fields' surface

- The grounds owners and managers have the final say in the availability of fields.

All games are ON until advised otherwise.

- Every effort will be made to publish any wet weather cancellations before 4:00PM on the day of games. However developing weather events might force a decision at a later time. If so team managers will be contacted to forward the information to their players.

- Any changes to the wet weather status will have the date and time they were published noted next to them to help you determine how current the information is.

- IN THE EVENT OF LAST MINUTE POSTPONEMENTS DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS THE TEAM CAPTAIN/MANAGER WILL BE CONTACTED DIRECTLY. IT IS THEN THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO ADVISE THEIR TEAM.

General Storms Info

Summer is prime storm season in Brisbane and they often arrive late in the afternoon making it very difficult to predict if it will be safe to proceed with games or not.

Regardless of the decision about games proceeding your highest priority during storms is to keep yourself safe.

* Avoid driving through heavy rain.

* Keep well away from fallen powerlines and fallen trees.

* DO NOT drive through flood water/storm water. If it's flooded, forget it.

        - Your car can be pushed off the road by flowing water.

        - If water gets in to the engine or electrics your car will stop suddenly without warning and will be very, very difficult to restart.

        - You might hit hidden, submerged objects such as sections of washed away road, manholes without covers, logs, rocks and large potholes.
