Mission Statement
Just Touch Rugby is a not-for-profit association established to provide a high quality touch competition focused on delivering a friendly, social and rewarding touch rugby experience while still encouraging a competitive spirit.
The foundation committee is run by playing members who all have in excess of 20 years’ experience in the game and are motivated on creating the best competition in Brisbane.
Just Touch Rugby encourages and promotes the participation of players as young as 13 years of age with there being no limit on the maximum age. We welcome players with any level of experience and encourage participants to play for the enjoyment and camaraderie of the game of touch rugby.
A Director of Referees has been appointed and will be responsible for organising and developing the organisation’s referees. The Director of Referees is highly experienced and has over 30 years’ involvement in the sport as a referee. The primary aim is to have good referees who, as a group, are consistent in the interpretation and application of the rules. This has been a driving force in creating the new competition.
Just Touch Rugby is affiliated with National Touch Rugby Australia (NTRA) and promotes active participation in regional trials and interstate and national representation. We will run regular training sessions for all players interested in preparation for the next NTRA Queensland trials. There are opportunities to represent in 18 age divisions and one weight division (100kg).
